About

What we do

The Transborder Policy Lab (TransborderLab) is a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and policy-oriented research network dedicated to the study of borders and transborder communities. While the primary focus of the TransborderLab is the Arizona-Sonora border region, its scope involves comparative research with other border spaces and experiences in the world. We work to improve our approaches, conceptualizations, methodologies, and knowledge exchange through open, participatory, and strategic engagement with border communities.

Who we are

The TransborderLab is supported by an interdisciplinary network of scholars and practitioners researching critical border issues and contributing knowledge to the design of place-based and people-oriented solutions to social, economic, and environmental problems. Our members are researchers, practitioners, and students affiliated to universities located in border regions in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Latinamerica.
